January 25, 2026, is the last day that the legacy USPS Web Tools APIs (used for real-time shipping rates, tracking, and related features in older AbleCommerce versions) will function. After this date, the USPS will fully retire these APIs, causing the old USPS integration to stop working in AbleCommerce.
AbleCommerce addressed this in their July 2025 newsletter and released a new USPS OAuth Shipping Integration (using the modern REST APIs with OAuth 2.0) in version 9.0.11 on June 30, 2025. This new integration supports rates, address verification, tracking, and international services. If you’re on the older AbleCommerce Gold builds, no new USPS integration will be developed—upgrading to AbleCommerce 9 is required for continued USPS support.
This aligns with the official USPS announcement: the entire Web Tools platform shuts down on January 25, 2026, and all integrators must switch to the new USPS APIs to avoid disruptions.
